The lights are all hung (well ok there so I want to put up a few more but for the most part there up), the song are being sequenced and starting Friday December 2nd (if there's no rain) the 2011 version of A Hazelhurst Christmas animated light show will debut. There are new elements this year including a new RGB mega tree which is 3600 channels and can produce 16.7 million colors!  The show will start out with less songs this year but as the season goes on I hope to add one or two more a week so keep checking back to see what's new. This year we will again be gathering can goods, non perishable food items and taking donations for a local food bank.  With many set backs this year I was not sure we were going to be able to pull this off but while not everything we wanted to do happened we still were able to get together the show. Because of the new electronics required and for the safety of the viewing public there will be no show on rainy nights or if there is heavy snowfall. The show will run from 7pm till 10pm nightly and we will have special late shows closer to Christmas. As always we ask you to respect our neighbors by not parking in front of there driveways, playing your radios loudly or blocking traffic. Well where almost into August and I have continued to move ahead with planned upgrades to the show. Currently the new mega tree lights are almost finished a look very impresive. The new controllers are all soldered together and about 1/3 of them are in there cases and complete. The are a couple of things still holding back the show, one is lack of funds for lights and the second is waiting for the update of the software I use to run the show. On the light issue I invested a lot more money into the mega tree than I orininally planned and that with the continued bleek economic times we are in I was unable to get in on any of the presales many of the light wholesalers have so I will have to wait till lights show up in the stores and see what the budget will allow then. The software used to run the show is going through a major re-write and is planned to be released at the end of this month but no word yet on the cost of the upgrade and untill I have the software I can;t even start sequencing any songs.
